Once Upon A Garden
Once Upon A Garden is a free monthly nature program created especially for Norfolk's preschool and young elementary-aged children (ages 8 and under). Each program includes a delightful picture book story time, a hands-on nature craft or activity, and an opportunity to explore the beauty of Fred Heutte Garden through play, discovery, and imagination.
To help ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone, one supervising adult is required for every three children attending. This is a family program, and adult participation is an important part of the experience.
Once Upon A Garden is designed specifically to serve Norfolk's children and families, helping young people develop a lifelong appreciation for nature, gardening, and the outdoors in a welcoming community setting.
While this Norfolk program is offered free of charge, donations are sincerely appreciated. As a small nonprofit organization, your support helps us continue providing free children's programming, educational activities, and community events that enrich the lives of Norfolk families. Every contribution—large or small—helps keep programs like Once Upon A Garden growing.
Once Upon A Garden meets the third Saturday of every month at 10am, rain or shine.
